Do you suffer from Orthophobia?
Did undergrad ORTHO leave you dazed and confused? Do you cringe at the mere mention of ORTHOdontics? Do you unlike wire bending? This lecture will not only help you face your fears but will also help you to:
Sharpen your focus and learn to spot the tell tale signs of malocclusion and differentiate skeletal from dental problems.
Improve your abiility to decide what problems to trear, when to wait and when to intervene.
Overcome your fear of interceptive ortho appliances by understanding how they work and how to adjust them properly; and hopefully get you to at least like ORTHO.

Orthodontic Marketing Strategies: Straighten It Out!
Dr. Maridin C. Munda-Lacson, D.I.B.O.

We are most often in the midstream of inquiries such as:
At what age should the child have an orthodontic evaluation?
What are necessary procedures needed to provide a thorough examination?
What are the advantages of having orthodontic treatment?
How does the braces work?
How long does the treatment take?
Can adult patients benefit from orthodontic treatment?
At what age is a patient too old for orthodontics?
How do we take care of our braces?
Will it affect my way of brushing?
Are there specific foods to be avoided?
Is orthodontic treatment expensive?

All these uncertainties need comforting solutions so we can handle it correctly and professionally. This motivational approach that you can visibly show to the patients, your verbal presentation, how you redesign outdated systems that would result to patient satisfaction will be highlighted on this lecture.

PDA Membership (who, what, when, where and why)
Dr. Arleen Reyes, F.P.F.A.

The PDA has been awarded several times as the Most Outstanding Professional Organization by the Professional Regulation Commission. This is proof that the PDA is an association that not only safeguards the dental practice but also is an association that ably responds to the needs of the community.

The Philippine Dental Association has in its listing more than 12,000 member-dentists nationwide. The number is not a true representation of the actual number of active and practicing dentists nationwide. One of the reasons is the lack of knowledge on what the association can do to its members and how it can uplift the practice of Dentistry. Another question is where do their payments go. Contrary to what others say, their P1,000 membership fee goes a long way in keeping and maintaining the dental association which look after the professional needs of the Filipino dental practitioner.
